Background:

Carmen Benavides is a brain health professional specializing in behavior change and cognitive wellness. Her work is driven by both professional experience and personal connection to the impact of cognitive decline.

After witnessing her grandmother’s journey with Alzheimer’s disease, and the profound effect it had on her family, Carmen became deeply committed to understanding how cognitive decline might be prevented. This path led her to her role as a Navigator for the Alzheimer’s Association’s U.S. POINTER Study, where she supported individuals in implementing evidence-based lifestyle interventions to reduce dementia risk.

In her work, Carmen draws on a multidisciplinary background spanning psychology, communication sciences, and patient-centered care. She is particularly focused on helping individuals translate complex brain health research into practical, sustainable habits that support long-term well-being.
